With snow in the Laurel Mountains approaching a foot in depth, the night hike this week became a snow shoe hike.  The views of the distant farmlands were spectacular.  It was even more impressive to watch as the lights in the distant were dimmed, and then hidden by the snow storm rolling across the hills toward us.  Wish it would show up in pictures.

This Saturday, December 29th, make sure to come out and give snow shoeing a chance.  It is a killer workout, makes hiking in the winter fun, and you get to explore parts of the woods in the winter that you would not be able to see without snow shoes.   Currently we are planning an evening/dusk/night snow shoe hike.  There will be a good deal of climbing (2000+ ft) but hot chocolate tastes better after climbing to the top of a mountain.  Email for details, but we are tenatively leaving Greensburg around 4 pm.
