Makes an easy salad dressing or a great marinade for vegetables and meat for grilling season.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • *Optional, 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 3 cloves mined garlic, about 1 tbsp
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 3/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp brown mustard, or other mustard

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients in a jar large enough to shake to combine ingredients, or use a food processor to blend.
  • If using as a marinade, marinate 1-2 hours.
  • This is enough time for foods to soak in marinade, however I let my products marinate over night. Makes about 1 cup.
  • Remember, whatever you are marinating, it does not have to be swimming in the marinade. A half to 1 cup marinade will work for about 1 1/2 pounds meat or 2 cups vegetables.
  • Additional ingredients, like thyme, rosemary, basil, or sun-dried tomatoes can be added to create different flavors.
