Ingredients

  • 1 15 oz canned  pumpkin, or 1 3/4  cups baked, mashed pumpkin
  • 1 cup DANNON  low fat vanilla yogurt,  or any lower calorie  yogurt
  • 10-12 ice cubes,  or more to thin  the smoothie
  • 1 tbsp sugar,  honey is also a  great substitute
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon,  nutmeg, ginger

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients  in blender and puree  until smooth.
  2. Make sure to put ice, and yogurt in blender first, otherwise the  ingredients will not have enough liquid to  blend well.
  3. I  like to garnish with  1/2 tbsp cranberries  and/or graham crackers.
  4. Makes about 3  cups.
  5. Also, add  a 1/4 c canned cranberry to the smoothie for a different sweet flavor.

I’ve never tried pumpkin in a smoothie, it sounds delicious! I’m not a fan of honey so I’m wondering how pure maple syrup would work? Equivalent calorie /nutritional values?

Hi Nancy, the best way to know is to give it a shot. Honey will be about 10-12 more calories per tbsp due to slightly greater carbs, which is the biggest nutritional difference. Try it out and let me know how it works. Thanks for the comments!
